The unofficial Motto of Independence Missouri "Let Us Amaze You" is very true to form. You will be amazed at the adventures that are available for anyone who is interested in current events and or historical happenings. The beginnings of the Oregon Trail, California Trail and the Santa Fe Trail that led to the historical transports of business and population, all started in Independence Missouri. Independence Missouri is the fourth largest city in the State and the location to downtown and the sporting events of the NFL and the MLB is only minutes away with a scenic drive every time. The fact that there are Ten Museums within the city limits of Independence Missouri, one of the larger malls in the county and sporting events that are always available, make Independence Missouri, not only a destination spot, but a location in which to spend many days enjoying the sites and culture of the town. The birthplace of Harry S. Truman and the Harry S. Truman Library is a must see for any visit to the Independence Missouri area. The weather is very predictable for the time of the seasons, with a fantastic view of color change in the fall. Centrally located in the Midwest, Independence Missouri enjoys tourism from most of the Continental United States.
