FURNITURE'S HISTORY OK Furniture has been family owned and operated since 1980 and still continue today. Dating back to a 1955 newspaper advertisement, OK Furniture began offering furniture and conducting weekly auctions at 915 Truman Rd. (E. 15th St.). Prior to 1980, OK Furniture relocated in the early 1970s to its current location at 2522 E. Truman Rd. where it began offering used furniture and appliances. It has been suggested OK Furniture had previously been located near OK Creek that could be found winding through downtown near current Union Station. The creek meandered through parts of downtown near Main St. which then emptied into the Missouri River. In the early 1900's, maps can be found showing proposals of OK Creek to be used for local municipalities.
